HELP is proud to be a no-kill shelter. Our animals remain in our care until they find their permanent guardians, however long that may take. We provide food, shelter, love, veterinary and medical care for these animals while actively pursuing qualified forever homes for all of them. All of the animals at HELP are vaccinated and spayed or neutered before adoption, ensuring that they will not add to the pet overpopulation crisis.

A slapdash group of animal advocates who could no longer choose to close their eyes while nearby animals were suffering, gathered together and made a very loud noise and were heard in 1988. Since then, things have changed at the shelter and yet so many things remain the same. Read more.
Our Mission Statement
H.E.L.P. the Animals, Inc. (Humane Existence for Lost Pets) maintains a no-kill shelter, providing a home for lost or abandoned dogs and cats that are sometimes victims of cruelty, abuse and/or neglect. All animals in our care are current with immunizations and are spayed or neutered before adoption, ensuring that they will not add to the overpopulation of unwanted pets. Shelter staff provide medical care, nourishment, exercise and love while actively pursuing lifetime adoptive homes; animals remain at the shelter until permanent guardians are found.
